Casserole Program,
aka

Q: What frozen blessings warm hearts all around the parish?
A:
The
casseroles waiting in the freezer in the “machine
room”.
These wonderful,
nourishing casseroles, made with love are tangible expressions
of our care for one another. They do, however, need
manual assistance when it comes to getting out of the freezer and into the
homes of those who could do with a hug, and the practical assistance
of a prepared meal.
So if
you notice someone carrying some extra cares – illness, bereavement, moving or if you are aware of
people celebrating a happy event like a new baby, receiving visitors
etc. please TAKE A CASSEROLE. You don’t have to be an “official” church
visitor - just help yourself and share something nice from all
of us.
If you have the time to cook for this caring ministry, please take
empty casseroles and lids from the top of the freezer. Make your
favourite dish, label with complete list of ingredients, date,
and heating instructions and return to the freezer. This is a
twice blessed
ministry – because you feel good giving and receiving! Isn’t
love amazing that way! |
